The more people you have round you who want to keep up with technology the more likely you are going to get such information . you can find such people in tech forums or in your local university.

Think about how up-to-date you want to be because keeping up takes a lot of time. and if you don't want to invest all that time then that is fine . so think for yourself how big of tradeoff regarding time and knowledge you want to do . if you decide for maximum knowledge, you have to invest a lot of your freetime in research.
6- Only focus on one Area
You can't keep up with the whole tech industry , Rather focus on one topic like android development and be up-to-date in it . Everything else will just cost you to much time and won't give you advantages.
